osteopathy for pregnancy murwillumbah

Dr Teleah Andrews

Osteopath

Women’s Pelvic Health Osteopath

Clinic Director

Teleah completed her Osteopathic studies at Southern Cross University graduating with a Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Masters of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduating, she moved to the big smoke (Brisbane) to expand her knowledge and skills in the areas of pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy, post-partum and persistent pain. As a born and bred local, Teleah had always planned to move back to Murwillumbah and start her own little clinic, offering holistic, evidenced informed, no BS, health care to her community.

Teleah fell in love with Osteopathy after experiencing the effects as a teenager with various football (soccer) and dance injuries. Seeing first hand how osteopathy could help people understand their bodies and realising how empowering it can be to take control of one’s own health, got Teleah hooked in expanding her knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.

Since graduating Teleah has completed further education with the Osteopathic Pelvic Health Institute and is a qualified women’s pelvic health practitioner offering support for pregnancy, birth preparation, post-partum recovery, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. Whilst having a special interest in these areas, Teleah loves to work with every kind of musculoskeletal, visceral or nervous system concern across all demographics including babies, children, adults and the elderly.

During a consultation with Teleah, you can expect a little bit of conversation as she believes every person is uniquely different and every aspect of their life can play a big role in how their body feels and functions. With the knowledge that the body and mind function as a unit, Teleah incorporates hands on manual therapy with breathing techniques, exercise rehabilitation and behavioural modifications to help target the root cause of your specific ailment.

Teleah is also a qualified Pilates teacher and a casual academic tutor at Southern Cross University. When she’s not in the clinic, you will find her outside, at the beach, hiking, bird watching and camping!

Teleah is in our Murwillumbah clinic Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Whilst offering personalised consultations in the clinic, Teleah also does community based work through the NDIS and My Aged Care. Give us a call to find out more!
